After watching an episode of the TV show Man vs. Food, I got an enormous craving for some beefy burgers and fries. The first name that popped in my head was Johnny Rockets so the kids and I trooped down to the Eastwood City Branch of this diner and got down to business. I can’t remember how many times we’ve been to this restaurant already, but I know that their cozy interiors, milkshakes and generous serving of fries keep me coming back once in a while.
We ordered a kid’s slider meal to be shared by my two toddlers since one serving already has two mini-burgers and some fries with it. I decided to try their Chili Size, an open faced burger with chili meat sauce topped with shredded cheese and onion bits. The chili wasn’t as spicy as I expected but it was something that a little hot sauce could easily remedy. Even though the serving size was big enough to share, I found myself finishing everything on my plate with relish. Of course the kids will not allow us to leave without dessert, so we got some milkshakes and brownies to fill what little room is left on our tummies. With my cravings satisfied and the little ones happy with their meal, we left the diner. Our tummies were so full that we decided to walk off the calories that we just consumed by going around the mall and window shopping.
