With only a few weeks to go before school officially opens, I decided to start the kids on their school routine. We are all excited about it as my little ones will venture on their first school day together and there were no protests raised when I announced that we will be waking up earlier than usual. I also prepared a list of “baon” schedule for our dry run week so our household routine will also be attuned to the kids’ schedule. Here is the list and schedule that I came up with:
Monday Quaker Oat Cookies and Dutchmill Yogurt Drink
Tuesday Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich and Fresh Milk
Wednesday Animal Crackers and Dutchmill Yogurt Drink
Thursday Ham & Cheese Sandwich and Chuckie Chocolate Milk
Friday Homemade Chicken Nuggets and Tipco Orange Juice
Hopefully this mix of homemade and grocery picked snack items will be interesting enough for the kids to finish off their snacks without any hitch. It also allows me to practice and improve my speed in preparing breakfast and baon at the same time. This “baon” schedule is intended for our dry run only. Our fares for next week will depend on what we will find in the grocery this weekend. I prefer to do our snack shopping on a weekly basis so we can make adjustments for snacks that the kids would like for the following week. Your snack combinations can be as varied as the available jet machinery in the market today. There are loads of ready to eat snacks from the grocery with passable nutrition values and some with good nutrition values like low fat and low sugar cereal bars or wheat crackers that appeal to kids.
