Thumbs-up for Child-friendly snacks at Pre-school Canteens

We accidentally bumped into my husband’s bike club buddy while we were checking a pre-school for our toddlers.  Their small talk on bike club activities turned into a lengthy discussion of bike specs and models.   When they got into transmission, suspension, gas spring and other mechanism jargons the kids and I excused ourselves to check out the school canteen and see what they had to offer.

The school canteen was like a mini version of a convenience store with limited products.  They have an ample variety of snacks and drinks and some non-food items like tissues, band aids and other basic toiletries.

Parents who would like to make sure that their children gets proper nutrition away from home will be pleased with the snack selection available in this canteen.  They have biscuits, crackers, cereal bars and single pack cereals that the kids can eat even without the milk, along with a small variety of cakes and cookies.  The beverage options are also child friendly.  They only have milk, yogurt drink, fruit juices, and water in their shelves.

The best way to ensure that our children will get proper nutrition is for mothers to prepare meals and snacks for the kids.  However, it time constrains prevent us from preparing school snacks then our best hope is nutrition conscious school canteens who only serve food that is good for the body.
